Anapola Mushkadiz
Lives in Mexico City. "Nowadays,
sex and nudity are a big taboo, and nobody wants to talk about
sex. Then you watch a Sony program and there's sex everywhere,
but it's a very plastic sex that doesn't go with the way I think
about nudity and sex."
Mexican-born actress Salma Hayek, a member of the Jury of
the 58th edition of the Cannes Festival, joined her countrymen, the director Carlos Reygadas and actors Anapola Mushkadiz and Marcos
Hernández, for the ceremonial red carpet entrance to the official screening of the film
Batalla en el Cielo (Battle in Heaven).
Batalla en el Cielo: Marcos and his wife kidnap a
baby for ransom money, but it goes tragically wrong when the
infant dies. In another world is Ana, the daughter of the
general he drives for, who prostitutes herself for pleasure.
Marcos confesses his guilt to her in his troubled search for
relief. And then finds himself on his knees amidst the multitude
of believers moving slowly towards the Basilica in honor of the
Lady of Guadalupe. |
