Rosanna Arquette has acted extensively in film and television,
and has come to be acknowledged as an actress of rare depth and
scope.
The pouty actress with a world class body was immortalized in
the song "Rosanna" written and performed by Toto (on
their album, Toto IV). "Rosanna" was a Top 10 hit that
went on to win a Grammys for 1982: Record of the Year, Best Pop
Vocal Performance, and Best Instrumental Arrangement With Vocal.
Rosanna had been dating one of the band members, Steve Porcaro.
She feels particularly proud of her offbeat roles in such independent films as After Hours (1985), Nobody's Fool (1986), and Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), for which she won the British Academy Award. Ms. Arquette was nominated for an Emmy for her work in the controversial The Executioner's Song (1982) (TV). She continues her work on television as well as the big screen.

In 1981 the then 22
year old actress filmed a made for TV movie based on Norman
Mailer's Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Executioner's Song.
She was nominated for an Emmy for her role as murderer Garry
Gilmore's girlfriend. These nude scenes are from the
European VHS tape. They have never been shown in the U.S.
This scene contains her only full frontal nudity.
Executioner's Song: Based on
the true story of murderer Gary Mark Gilmore, spanning the last
nine months of his life (May 1976-January 1977) in which at age
35, after being released for serving a long prison term in Utah
for armed robbery, the unstable Gilmore murdered two men in two
seperate and senseless robberies in which after a brief public
trial in October, he was sentenced to death by firing squad which
drew a lot of media attention when Gilmore insisted that his
execution be carried out and he became the first man to be
executed in the USA since the government reinstated the death
penalty in 1976. |
